Studio atmosphere
KeKo Club is a creative space in the heart of Newport Pagnell, welcoming everyone from absolute beginners to experienced makers. It was founded by Kateryna Shamshuryna-Acland, who grew up in Ukraine and built a varied career across sport, hospitality and beyond before discovering clay. After a difficult period that led to a clinical depression diagnosis in 2023, Kateryna found hope through a strict routine, therapy and creativity, first through drawing and then through pottery. That personal journey shaped KeKo Club into a welcoming, judgement-free community where people can connect with themselves, practice self-care and try something new. The studio opened in 2025 with the aim of creating a warm, uplifting and inviting space for all, built on the belief that pottery is more than making beautiful ceramics: it is a chance to slow down, switch off, improve wellbeing and enjoy the therapeutic process of working with clay. Known as an "Art Gym", it is a place to exercise your creativity, build confidence and embrace mistakes.
Classes & programs
KeKo Club offers a full range of classes and experiences for every level. One-Off Wheel Classes are £50 for a relaxed two-hour session where you create a couple of wheel-thrown pieces that are then fired and glazed in the colour of your choice. Individual Tutoring and Refreshers are £50 per hour with a minimum two-hour booking, ideal for personalised guidance or sharpening your skills. Six-Week Wheel Courses run at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels for £225, working out at £37.50 per 2.5-hour session plus four hours of solo studio practice each week, with all glazes and firings included. Beyond the core classes, the studio also runs taster sessions, hand-building courses, children's workshops, holiday clay clubs, family sessions, corporate team-building events, hen parties and bespoke pottery experiences.
Schedule & availability
Classes, courses and open studio sessions run throughout the week, including evening classes and weekend workshops to suit different schedules. Six-week wheel courses follow set weekly sessions with additional solo studio practice time each week, while one-off classes, private tutoring and family sessions can be booked around availability. Memberships include flexible studio access across the month. The studio calendar and booking are managed online, and it is worth booking ahead as popular classes and courses fill up.
