Studio atmosphere

Swansea Pottery Collective is a community-led pottery studio offering workshops, guided courses, and a flexible subscription for amateur and beginner potters. Whether it's your very first time touching clay or you're building confidence at the wheel, you'll find a relaxed, supportive space to learn and create. Founded by four people who met at an adult evening pottery course at Gower College Swansea, the collective was born to bridge the gap between learning and continuing—giving beginner and amateur potters an accessible place to keep practising.

Classes & programs

From introductory wheel throwing to themed hand-building sessions, courses are designed to build skills and confidence with small group teaching and clear, step-by-step instruction. The weekly subscription gives you regular access to the studio—4 hours per week—perfect for learning at your own pace. All tools, clay, glazes, and kiln firings are included. Sessions are available in the evenings and at weekends to fit around your schedule.

Facilities & tools

The studio is fully equipped with pottery wheels, hand-building tools, glazes, and kiln access. All equipment is provided as part of the subscription. The studio is wheelchair accessible and welcomes potters of all abilities.

Best for

Complete beginners, amateur potters wanting regular practice, anyone looking for a calm creative outlet, and people who enjoy learning in a social, supportive setting. Groups are kept small—capped at around 10 people—so everyone feels seen and supported. No experience required, just curiosity.
